This week we are continuing our study of the Book of Acts. We will, again, look at Acts 20-Acts 21:16 and finish up our look at Spiritual Friendship that we started last week.

As you read, see if you can remember what we said about this idea of friendship– friendship on a spiritual level. To help, I want to remind you of the four points we mentioned:

1) Spiritual Friendship is Needed

2) Spiritual Friendship is Discovered (not just Made)

3) Spiritual Friendship is Made (not just Discovered)

4) Spiritual Friendship is Forever

As I said last week, I believe this is incredibly relevant in our lives today. We all want deep, rich relationships… We’ll be pondering how we can enjoy them as God intended.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Doug

Well, the warmer weather has arrived and it’s starting to get nice outside.

I hope you have had a chance to enjoy it and are having a great week. This Sunday we will continue our study of the Book of Acts. To prepare, read Acts 20– Acts 21:16. This is a time when the life of Paul begins to make a dramatic change– and we will see some things that can help us in our ever-changing lives.

I also want to remind you of the Hilltop Community Church work day this Saturday (4/21) from 9am-5pm. You can drop in anytime and leave when you have to– but this is a chance to do some work on the grounds and landscaping, paint some shutters, do general clean up and just give some loving care to our shared home.

I hope you can make it for some of the time.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will return to our study of the Book of Acts by going through Acts 19.

I want to remind you that Acts is the story of the early church. As we see how the church developed in the Book of Acts, we can see what God has in mind for our church as well. I encourage you to read Acts 19 and ponder how/why the events you read about are relevant to our church today.

Looking forward to Sunday!

This week is Holy Week. It is a time to remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I want to remind you that there will be a combined Good Friday service (Crosscurrent, Hilltop, and Grace family fellowship) at 6:30pm in the Hilltop Church sanctuary. We will be looking at Matthew 27:32-56, singing songs, and celebrating the Lord’s Supper together. This is a special time in the calendar of the church and I hope that you can join us.

On Sunday, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus– the single most important event in the history of the cosmos! to prepare for this service, read the resurrection account found in Matthew 27:62-28:15.

Finally, we will have an Easter gathering after the service to eat and spend some time together. It will be held at the home of Jim and Dale Browning from approximately 11:30 (after church) until 2:00pm. please bring some food to share. the Browning’s live in Baycliffe– off Mill Dam Road, just past Cape Henry Collegiate School. Their address is 2004 Wood Hollow Cove, Virginia Beach. It’s probably about 7 minutes from the church. If you are concerned about finding it– we can form a Grace2F caravan so every arrives safely.

May God bless you over the weekend and may you experience the work of Jesus– his incredible sacrifice, love, and power in a whole new way!

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,

Doug
