This week we are continuing our series in the Book of Nehemiah entitled Hand me Another Brick. During the next several weeks we will be learning some principles to restore different walls in our lives just as Nehemiah restored the wall of Jerusalem.

Last week we saw that Nehemiah took immediate action when he learned that Jerusalem’s wall remained in ruins– he brought his concerns before God. This week we will take some time to look at Nehemiah’s prayer as it is recorded in Nehemiah 1:5-11. Read this prayer in preparation for our time on Sunday. As you do, ask yourself some questions:

1) What does Nehemiah say about God?

2) What promises has God made?

3) How have people related to God?

4) What does Nehemiah ask for?

Finally, ask yourself what you can relate to in the prayer and what you don’t understand. We will take some time to unpack these words and see how and where they are applicable to our lives and circumstances.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,
