April 5th News- Easter & Stories of the Cross Part 3

Series:Stories of the Cross

This week we will conclude our three-part series called Stories of the Cross where we have been  looking at three stories from the Old Testament that foreshadow and point us to what Jesus did when he was crucified and raised from the dead.

Two weeks ago, we saw in Genesis 3 that God seeks after lost people and there is a price to cover our sin and shame.

Last week, we talked about Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and were reminded of the story of Abraham traveling up Mount Moriah to sacrifice his son, Isaac in Genesis 22.

So we have seen that God pursues lost people, he covers their sin, and he provides a sacrifice for sin.

Sunday, we will celebrate Easter by looking at how the Passover story in Exodus 12 reveals the greater work that Jesus did in his death, burial, and resurrection.

Please prayer for our service this Sunday– and the opportunity to invite your friends and family to join us in this beautiful celebration of what God has done for us through Jesus. Also, we are having a time to eat and be together after the service at the Browning’s house (2004 Wood Hollow Cove in Baycliffe– off Mill Dam Rd, past First Colonial High School and Cape Henry Collegiate). If you can, bring something to share and come and join us!

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,
