Series: Galatians

Message: Peter & Cornelius

In order to understand Galatians 2, we need to understand Paul’s relationship with Peter. In order to understand Paul’s relationship with Peter, we need to see what God taught Peter in Acts 10 when he meets a Roman centurion named Cornelius.

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter the Galatians.

To understand Galatians 2, we must understand Paul’s relationship to the apostle Peter.

Like all of us, Peter’s faith had many peaks and valleys. Like all of us, Peter was often confused by Jesus and how God works. And like all of us, Peter’s faith walk was a process.

This week we will look at how Peter’s view of the gospel changed radically with one powerful experience.

To prepare, read Acts 10 to see what happened.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

Galatians-Who Can Be Saved?

Series: Galatians

Message: Who Can Be Saved?

The question “Who Can Be Saved?” was an important one for the early church. It was important to Paul in his letter to the Galatians. The Judaizers thought you had to be Jewish to be saved. Paul disagreed.

Galatians-No Other Gospel

Series: Galatians

Message: No Other Gospel

This week Paul gets to the main point of his letter. He has heard that the Galatians believers have been told they must believe in Jesus and also follow Jewish customs and laws to really be saved. This is a whole different gospel than the one Paul preached to them.

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter the Galatians.

After his introduction and a reminder of the gospel he preached to them, Paul gets quickly to the point:

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. (Galatians 1:6-7)

Paul doesn’t like the reports he’s been hearing from Galatia, and he is determined to deal with them quickly and effectively.

What was the problem? Read Galatians 1:6-24 to find out!

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

In the first five verses, Paul clearly presents his main message to the followers of Jesus in Galatia. It is the gospel and Paul wants them to understand exactly what it is.

To prepare, read Galatians 1:1-10

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Message: Paul the Apostle

This week we begin a study of the Book of Galatians.

Paul write this letter to the churches in Galatia because he is concerned they have been led astray by people teaching a false gospel. In his greeting, he identifies himself as an apostle. What does this mean? Why is it important? And who is Paul?
