This week we continue our series called What We Believe.
In the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), Jesus tells his disciples that they are to share the good news with others. As Christians, we know this, but often struggle to do so. We see a great case study for how we are to share our faith in Acts 17 when Paul goes to the city of Athens.
This week we will continue our series called What We Believe.
We are taking some time to think about two important aspects of the Christian faith:
What we believe
Why we believe it
Sunday, we will look at the great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. Then we will see how the apostle Paul carries out the great commission in a culture much like our own.
If you’ve ever felt like you could do a better job of sharing your faith, this passage will encourage you. To prepare, read Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 17:15-23.
Looking forward to Sunday!!
Grace and peace,
Doug

Prayer Ministry
Do you need prayer? Our prayer ministry wants to pray for you! Look for Prayer Request cards by the offering basket. Fill one out and put it in the offering basket– or find the prayer table after the service and pray with someone.
This week we continue our series called What We Believe.
In our church’s statement of faith, we begin with this:
The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament, is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original documents and of final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
What does that mean exactly and why do you think it’s true?

What we believe
Why we believe it
Last week we introduced this series with a look at the Christian world view. Christians do have a very specific way of viewing the world, life, God, faith, etc. And, this view is often, perhaps always, in conflict with the views of the world.
This week, we will look at why we believe the Bible. To prepare, I have several verses for you to read and think about:
1 Peter 3:15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 17:17; Proverbs 30:5-6; Matthew 24:35; John 20:30-31
I hope that you read each of these verses and consider what they are saying about the Bible.
Looking forward to Sunday!!
Grace and peace,
Doug

This week we start a series called What We Believe.
We will consider basic truths of the Christians faith and then ask the deeper question, “Why do we believe this?” This is an important question in a world will so many different views.
We begin with and introduction that looks at the idea of a worldview.
This week we will continue our three-part series called Foundational Truths for 2019.
As we move into a new year, it is normal to evaluate your life and determine changes you would like to make. This is a natural and positive process. However, we should always be thinking about those changes through Scripture and God’s thoughts on the subject.
Sunday we will look at 5 foundational truths from God’s Word to help us to trust God more in 2019.
Looking forward to Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Doug
