This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

In Galatians 3:26-29, Paul makes an incredible statement about the children of God. It was radical at the time and it is radical today as well.

To prepare read Galatians 3:26-29 and Luke 18:9-14.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

In Galatians 3:15-18, Paul continues to share Old Testament history with the Galatians. He has just talked about how people can go down the law road or the faith road. One leads to death (the law road) and one leads to life (the faith road).

Now he talks about the relationship between the promise that was given to Abraham and the law that was given to Moses.

To prepare read Galatians 3:15-18 and Genesis 12:1-7.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

In Galatians 3:10-14, Paul will present two different ways people approach God. One way works and one way doesn’t. One way gives glory to God and the other brings condemnation. One way leads to life and the other to death.

As you read Galatians 3:10-14, see if you can pick out the way that Pauls says will work.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

Paul now moves to the father of the Jewish faith: Abraham. He will prove to the Galatians– by looking at Abraham– that faith is the key to life with God and has been since the beginning.

To prepare, read Galatians 3:6-9, Genesis 12:1-3,  and Genesis 15:1-19.

Please read these passages because there will be a pop quiz on their content!

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

In Galatians 3, Paul moves from talking about his experiences to asking the Galatians about their experiences with God. He poses some very provocative questions that apply to us today.

To prepare, read Galatians 3:1-5. Don’t rush through these words; rather, think about what Paul is saying to the Galatians– and think about what God is saying to you.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

I was prepared to move on to Galatians chapter 3, but I believe we need to spend one more week on the idea that we “have been crucified with Christ.” It is an amazing truth that we need to permeate our souls.

We will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper this Sunday.

To prepare, read Galatians 2:19-21, Romans 2:28-29, Jeremiah 31:33, and Ezekiel 36:24-28.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

Paul is going to make an incredible statement in this passage. He will tell us a reality of the gospel that is both miraculous and had to believe. If we live in the truth of these words our lives will be changed.

To prepare, read Galatians 2:19-21 and Romans 7:1-12.

I would also like to give a shout out to Michael and Tasha Hasty for hosting church in their home last Sunday. That was not my plan or their plan. It did, however, seem to be God’s plan and I am grateful they were obedient and generous.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter the Galatians.

Paul is very passionate about protecting the purity of the gospel. So passionate, in fact, that he confronts Peter when he sees that Peter isn’t living in line with the truth of the gospel. In the confrontation, Paul presents some important theological ideas that we must understand to protect the purity of the gospel in our lives too.

To prepare, read Galatians 2:11-21 and Mark 7:1-20.

We will be focusing on Galatians 2:17-18. Read these verses carefully and see if you can discover what Paul is saying here.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter the Galatians.

Paul has spent a great deal of time reviewing his credentials and the gospel he preached to the Galatians. Now he gives them a practical example of how serious he is. He shares about an encounter with Peter where Paul must confront his fellow apostle about the way he was living out the gospel.

To prepare, read Galatians 2:11-21.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug

This week we will continue our series on Paul’s letter the Galatians.

To understand Galatians 2, we must understand Paul’s relationship to the apostle Peter and the church in Jerusalem.

If you remember, the Judaizers were challenging Paul’s authority as an apostle and his version of the gospel. In Galatians 2, Paul reminds them of his time with the apostles in Jerusalem during the Jerusalem Council. This was an important chapter in the life of the church and of Christianity itself.

To prepare, read Galatians 2:1-10 and Acts 15:1-21 to see what happened.

Looking forward to Sunday!!

Grace and peace,

Doug
