For the last souple of weeks we have been talking about Peter’s statements in Acts 4:12, 20:

[12] Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

[20] For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

These are incredibly important and powerful words. Words that offend many people.

But as we’ve been comparing Chrsitianity to other religions, we have seen that there are some characteristics of Christianity that make it unique. Two weeks ago we said, that Christianity was unique because of the events it presents. Last week, we said it was unique because of its founder– Jesus.

This week we will see that Christianity is unique because of its message.

Although all of this is interesting, there is more than knowlege to be gained here. The more we understand the gospel as a people– a church– the more we will confidently tell others the good news of Jesus Christ. That gives the church a mision unlike any other. A mission God, through Jesus, invites us into.

 Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,

This week we will contine our study of the Book of Acts by focusing on Acts 2:42-47. As you read this passage you will see a beautiful picture of Christian community.

How does this picture of life in the early church match up with what you have experienced in the past? More importantly, how does it match up with what you’re experiencing right now.

I believe that our culture is not necessarily geared towards loving, intimate community. And we are all affected by this. If that is true, the church is a real departure from much of what we know or even desire.

What do you think?

Looking forward to Sunday!
