Who would have thunk that we would have snow before Christmas here in Southeast Virginia?!?

Well, it happened– and I hope you survived tstarofbethlehemhe snow, sleet, and slush.

This week we continue our look at the Christmas story form Scripture. Sunday we will read the familiar story of the wise men or Magi came from the east and who followed a star to find Jesus.

For the last couple of weeks we have been focusing on God’s gift to us– giving his son. This week we will discover some gifts that we given to Jesus. We learn about some misconceptions of these Magi and we’ll see the power in their gifts.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,

Christmas Eve

We invite you to join us for our Christmas Eve service this year… Here’s the info:candle-flame-1-ajhd

WHEN: 5:00-6:00pm, Friday, December 24th

WHERE: Hilltop Community Church Fellowship Hall (where we normally meet)

WHAT: A celebration of the birth of Jesus!

I hope you can join us– and invite a friend. We have the service at 5 so that you can start the evening off focused on the true reason for the season (Jesus) and then spend the rest of the night with family and friends.

Sunday, December 26th
We WILL NOT have a service on Sunday, December 26th. I encourage you to continue your Christmas celebration that morning– or, if you are so inclined, check out another church and experience their worship (that’s probably what I’m going to do!).

Grace2F Christmas Caroling at Russell House

We are looking into putting together an opportunity to go to Russell House to sing some Christmas Carols for the residents there.

Right now, we are thinking about meeting at Russell House at 4:00pm on Thursday, December 3rd. We can bring some Christmas goodies, sing, and celebrate fro 30-60 minutes.

This would be a great family activity!
