Series: The Lord’s Prayer.

Thy Will Be Done

The climax of the first part of the Lord’s Prayer is the phrase, Thy Will Be Done.

When we think of those words, there is an obvious desire for God’s good and perfect will to be done on this earth as in heaven. But what happens when God’s will is not the same as our will. How can we pray these words with peace and hope if it means that we may have to set aside what we want to happen in our lives and the world.

This a powerful phrase that we must wrestle with before we can move on to asking for daily bread and protection.

To prepare for this Sunday, read Matthew 26:36-46 and see an example of Jesus praying this exact prayer. Also read 2 Kings 6:8-18.

There is snow in the forecast, but it should be over in time for us to be able to meet on Sunday. I want to encourage you to read the scripture above and come ready to hear why we should and how we can pray thy will be done with joy and confidence!

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,
