First of all, I want to thank you for bringing in some supplies for our church (Grace2F and Hilltop Community). Feel free to continue with anything you think could help– cleaning supplies, coffee cups, paper products, coffee, etc.

Second, I want to remind you that we are scheduled to serve at PIN Ministry this Sunday (August 29th). Dallas Stamper, the Director of PIN has requested that we arrive at 2:40pm. We usually serve until around 4:00pm. There iPINMinistrylogos a service afterwards that you are invited to attend. The dinner takes place at Beach Pentecostal (15th and Baltic) and kids are welcome to serve, too! If you are interested in joining us, please contact Tim Adams: tim.adams@verbodevelopment.orgor 757-753-5351 (cel). Dallas would like a count of volunteers ASAP so that he can coordinate the set-up. If you have never had the opportunity to be a part of the PIN Ministry I would encourage you to come and check it out!

Third, if you have visited us recently, I want to welcome you! It was great to meet you and I hope that you enjoyed the service. If you ever have any questions about who we are and what we believe, check out some of the information on this website. Also please feel free to contact me directly at

Finally, we will be continuing our study of the Book of Mark this Sunday. Over the last few weeks we’ve seen how the Pharisee’s reacted to Jesus, then how the crowds reacted, and finally how the disciples reacted.

This Sunday we come across an interesting passage that shows how his earthly family reacts to him. To prepare, you can read Mark 3:20-21 and Mark 3:31-35 (We will come back to the passage in the middle– Mark 3:22-30 another time).

This is an interesting passage that relates to us directly– and I can’t wait to show you how!

We will also be celebrating the Lord’s Supper together.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace and peace,

Israel_mountainsideYou like this picture? It’s taken from a mountain in Israel… I don’t know which one or where.

I wanted you to have this image in your mind this week, because we’re going to travel with Jesus and his disciples to a mountain side. To get there, we’ll have to survive the crush of incredible crowds of desperate people trying to get close to Jesus.

Our passage this week is found in mark 3:7-19. In my Bible this is divided into two sections. The first, Mark 7-12, is described as “Crowds Follow Jesus”. The second, Mark 13-19, is described as “The Appointing of the Twelve Apostles”.

As you read these verses, understand that Jesus has called and appointed youjust like he did his disciples in the story. In fact, and I’ve said this many times before, they’re story is our story.

Sunday I hope to show you exactly what I mean. I hope you can be there.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Grace2F Happenings

I want to remind you that we can help out Hilltop Community Church by providing some of the things that we regularly use.

Last week, I talked about 42 gallon trash bags– well, lo and behold, someone generously provided a box of 50!

Here are some general items you can help with (before it’s too late!).

– Coffee

– Toilet paper (I checked today… The supply is getting perilously low)

– Paper towels

I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but donating these things really helps out everyone who uses the facility.

grace2flogo-300x150Well, we have returned from our New England vacation! The weather was spectacular. Sunny every day but one; temps in the 80’s; low humidity. The only problem was that it was a bit windy– although, I like to sail so it wasn’t a total loss!

We also had had some big happenings that we celebrated: my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday; my brother-in-law announced his engagement; and I got to baptize my nephew.

As great as it was to get away, it is also wonderful to return home. To return to the comfort of your own home and familiar surroundings and friends.

I want to thank Troy Smith and Katie Adams for speaking the last two weeks– it’s nice to know that the Word of God goes out every Sunday… whether I’m present or not!

This week we are going to return to the Book of Mark. If you remember, we finished chapter 2 with the Pharisees questioning Jesus about the Sabbath. Sunday we will see another story that has to do with the Sabbath. It’s found in Mark 3:1-6. In this passage, Jesus heals a man with a withered hand. Read the story and come this Sunday to discover how this miracle can impact you and your life. I believe it tells us something about Jesus that I can often forget or just downright misunderstand.

Looking forward to Sunday!
