This Sunday we will continue our study of the Book of Acts. Our passage is found in Acts 17:24-34. Here, Paul lays the foundations for the Christian faith. He presents a number of important truths that challenged the thinking of the those he was speaking to in Athens– but also the thinking of today as well.

As we talked about a couple of weeks ago, I encourage you to read these verses each day. I know you probably read them last week and may be wondering why you should keep reading them. Here’s the answer: God will continue to reveal his truth to you each time you approach his word with an open, humble heart.

Finally, I would ask for your prayers as I go with my father to visit my uncle Moe (my dad’s brother). Moe is fading fast with cancer and my prayer is that he remains on this earth until Friday so that my dad and he can be together one last time. As difficult as the situation is there is much to be thankful for and much beauty. God is totally in the midst of this.

Have a great rest of the week… Looking forward to Sunday!

Greetings on a Monday!

Yesterday I gave everyone an assignment and I figured that I would get this e-mail out to remind and encourage you. Please read Acts 17:16-34 today. Then read it tomorrow, Wed, Thurs… every day until next Sunday.

Questions you can be asking as you read are:

1) What does it say?

2) What does it mean?

3) What does it mean to me?

Remember to pray for your eyes to be opened and for the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s Truth to you. And don’t be discouraged the first couple of days. Stay with it. And believe that God will speak to you.

I will be praying for you this week.

Remember to pray for:

Dennis’ mom– for her surgery

Danica for her newjob

Rex for healing

The Adams for their up coming move

Have a great week!

Grace and peace,

This week we are continuing our study of the Book of Acts to help us understand the early church so we can understand the church today.

We will focus on Acts 16:10-15. In this passage we meet a group of people from Berea. Luke (the writer of Acts) tells us something special about these folks that allow them to gain incredible insights and truth. It’s actually pretty obvious what it is– and it doesn’t surprise us. but I think we need to think about this more deeply. In fact, I think we need to hear about this from God’s Word.

So, here are some other passages we will be looking at tomorrow. Find them in you Bible and read them and see if you can discover where I am going to end up in my message (kinda like a game!… Fun, huh?)

Psalm 1

Isaiah 55:8-11

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Hebrews 4:12-13

John 1:1-14

Looking forward to Sunday– and looking forward to seeing you all again!
