This Sunday we will continue our series on the Book of Nehemiah by finishing up with our study of the gates of Jerusalem. We’ve already looked at the Sheep Gate, Fish Gate, Old Gate, Valley Gate, Dung gate, Fountain Gate, and Water Gate… Do you remember the symbolic significance of each of these gates as a metaphor for the Christian life?
This we will conclude with the three remaining gates. Below, I will provide some scripture to read about each gate that will help you prepare for this Sunday (so we can practically apply what we learned about the Water Gate!).
Here are the last three gates and some scripture to connect with them:
Horse Gate
Ephesians 6:10-13; 2 Timothy 2:3; Revelation 19:11-16
East Gate
Ezekiel 44:1-3; Zechariah 14:4
Inspection (Miphkad) Gate
Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 14:10-12; 1 Corinthians 3:10-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10
I encourage you to read these passages and think about what they might mean in the life of a follower of Jesus.
Make sure you check out Grace2F Happenings below because there are several ministry opportunities coming up!
Looking forward to Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Doug

Grace2F Wednesday Night Bible Study
We’ll be starting this study called Maturing in Christ: “Called to Disciple” on Wednesday, May 29th. We’ll meet at the same place we meet on Sunday mornings– Hilltop Community Church Fellowship Hall– from 7:00pm to 8:30. The study is six-weeks long so you can come try it out. If you can’t make all six weeks, that’s okay, because the studies can stand alone as well.
Here is a brief description and the weekly topics:

This Sunday we will continue our series on the Book of Nehemiah. Two weeks ago we began looking at the gates of Jerusalem. We saw the Sheep, Fish, Old, and Valley Gates and used them as a metaphor for the Christian life. We have 6 more gates to go through this Sunday. Read Nehemiah 3 to identify the remaining gates and begin thinking how they could relate to “the Christian life”.

Looking forward to Sunday!

This Sunday Grace Family Fellowship, Hilltop Community Church, and Regenesis Church will all meet together for a Father’s day Celebration and worship service.
I am excited about the opportunity to meet some new folks in the family of God. Interestingly, we have been talking about Bricks of Community the last few weeks– and now we get to practically apply Bricks of FELLOWSHIP and INCLUSION.
The service is in the where we normally meet, but it is at 10:00am this week

Looking forward to Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Doug

Last week we started chapter 3 of Nehemiah and learned that everyone was included in the task of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Although some chose not to participate, everyone was welcome.
We used that to pick up the Brick of Inclusion. The invitation of Nehemiah– and of Jesus– extends to everyone.
This week we will continue with Nehemiah 3. Read the chapter again and pay special attention to the “gates” that are mentioned in the text. They are very significant. I will share some things about the gates that I believe will reveal the wonder and creativity of God’s story.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Doug
